Throughout this week, the non-profit American Scottish Foundation® has organised New York City's Tartan Day Parade and Tartan Week activities.
April 6th is designated a national Tartan Day by US Congress and celebrates the Scottish-Americans contributions to America, and marks the the anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath 1320, which asserted Scotland as an independent country.
To join in the celebrations, we have a selection of popular cocktails inspired by Scotland’s most famous product, whisky, and designed to get any party started!
This unique whisky cocktail comes with a balance of fruitiness, spice and warmth making it the perfect treat for all seasons.
Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with some crushed ice and shake vigorously. Unscrew the cocktail shaker and strain the cocktail into a glass filled with crushed ice. To finish the cocktail, add a teaspoon of apple sauce and sprinkle the digestive biscuit over.

Whilst it has gone through a few moderations, the whisky sour appears in all good bartenders guides, so here is a classic way to make it.
One of the great things about this cocktail is its simplicity. Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously until combined. Strain into a chilled glass and add the cherry for garnish. Finally, froth the egg and add to the top for a silky smooth finish.

The ingredients for this classic hot toddy results in a smoky and flavoursome drink.
Simply heat the cider, honey, cinnamon and lemon peel in a saucepan over a medium heat until the honey has melted. Turn off the heat and add the whisky, the lemon juice, stir and serve.
